Nagy szilárdságának köszönhetően más csonthájasokhoz hasonlóan elképzelhető a bekeverése különböző építőipari anyagokba olyan módon, hogy azok szilárdságát, teherbíró képességét nem rontja.

Other potential utilisation in soil

Orchideák termesztéséhez táptalaj lehet, talajtakaró mulcsként is alkalmazható savanyú talajokat kedvelő növények termesztéséhez. A kerti növények cserepének aljába hejezve is alkalmazzák, komposztba is keverhető. Aprófa vagy papír helyett gyújtósként is kiváló.
