A fahamu laboratóriumi vizsgálatára a Vas Megyei MgSzH Talajvédelmi Laboratóriumába került sor. Az „összes” elemtartalom cc. HNO3 + cc. H2O2 roncsolást követıen ICP technikával került meghatározásra. A talaj oldható tápelemtartalmának megállapítása az MSZ 20135:1999 módszer alapján történt.

A fahamu trágyahatását, csírázásgátló és toxikus hatását vizsgálták tenyészedénykísérletben Pecöl község mellől származó savanyú talajon. A laboratóriumi vizsgálatokat a Vas Megyei MgSzH Talajvédelmi Laboratóriumában végezték. A kísérletek alapján a fahamu hatással van a talajra és a benne termesztett növények növekedésére, fejlődésére. A 20 t/ha-nak megfelelő kezelés hatására a vizsgált talaj pH-ja 5,69-ről 7,72-re emelkedett. A vizsgált tápelemek közül a foszfor, a kálium, a magnézium és a kén összes mennyisége nőtt a kezelés hatására a talajban, ezzel szemben a nitrogéné gyakorlatilag nem változott. A talaj összes nehézfémtartalma szignifikánsan nem változott a fahamu alkalmazásának hatására.
