Utilisation

A fűrészport többféle úton is hasznosítják: legnagyobb arányban égetéssel hő és elektromos áram termelésére használják, illetve jelentős mennyiséget vesz fel az építőipar, ahol konglomerált lemezek (LDF, farostlemez) és tégla gyártása során hasznosítják.

Risks associated with potential utilisation in soil

Önmagában komposztálás nélkül nem ajánlott talajba keverni, mivel megköti a talaj N tartalmát, ezáltal N deficitet hozva létre a talajban. A talaj víztartó képességét és a talaj tömörségét is negatívan befolyásolhatja. A talajban élő mikroorganizmusok a komposztálatlan fűrészpor biodegradációjához N használnak fel, mely szintén deficitet eredményez a talajban, és ez a N csak a fűrészpor teljes lebontása után a mikroorganizmusok pusztulásával kerül vissza a talajba.
