Az Arany féle kötöttségi szám a talaj típusra jellemző, a képlékenység felső határát jellemző érték, az a ml-ben kifejezett vízmennyiség, melyet 100 g légszáraz talajhoz kell adagolni az un. fonalpróba eléréséig.

Detailed Protocol

50 g légszáraz, porított talajmintához részletekben desztillált vizet adagolunk, míg egyenletesen átnedvesedett, csomómentes pépet kapunk, ehhez a péphez cm3-enként desztvizet adagolunk mindaddig, míg a képlékeny pép már fonalpróbát ad. Fonalpróba: a fenti módon elkészített pépbe spatulát nyomunk, majd hirtelen kivesszük, így hegyes kúp keletkezik a pépen és a spatulán. Ha elegendő desztillált vizet adagolunk a talajhoz a kúp hegye visszahajlik, ez a fonalpróba.
