A kávészemek pörkölése után a kávét különböző módon lehet elkészíteni. A forró víz kioldja az őrölt kávéból a hatóanyagokat és az aromákat. A visszamaradó szilárd szemcsés anyagot nevezzük zaccnak.

Utilisation

A kávézacc kiváló növényvédőszer, távol tartja a kártevőket. Rengeteg ásványi anyaggal és más hasznos tápanyaggal látja el kertünk talaját, növelhetjük vele annak nitrogén, foszfor, kálium, kálcium, magnézium és kén tartalmát. Talajtakaróként is megállja helyét. Szabályozza a nedvességet, és nem engedi nyáron kiszáradni a talajt, viszont a nagy esőzések után segít, hogy a felesleges víz el tudjon távozni kertünkben. A kávészemek csersavtartalma részben a zaccban is megmarad, így alkalmas lehet a talaj javítására. Különösen azok a növények hálálják meg a zacckezelést, amelyek savanyú talajban fejlődnek jobban.

Komposztálható, hűtő illatosítóként is használható, hangyaűző hatású, a tűzhelybe téve kevesebb hamu keletkezik a fa égése során, színanyagként is alkalmazható.
